Update on Reading Habits

What we want to start with is a quick run down of what i have been reading for the last 5 years when i last wrote for this blog

im sure there was a Heyer (pronounced "hair") period in there

constantly reviving my commitment to her peculiar style of historical London just wonderful

and also what else?

oh my... i am practically memorizing Kazan because he has learned so much in is life about writing really keeps me turning pages like a true confessions magazine
and such confessions

who else, Howard Pyle

funny story, he did the definitive work on Robin Hood in the late 19th century, pretty much his great work

this is not my great work still it is worth doing ...
and even if it isn't, it is still what i do /

and i have loved The Daughter of Time again

and a major obsession with Ephron

it was a revival ... and what brought that on?  They way I kept having ahhahs that she describes in the book that i didn't get at the time and i go to pick up the book and open it to exactly the page where it is happening.  This kind of thing no one can plan to happen to me.  So much better than being part of some human person's idea of able to be exploited for business as usuaL.  This is how the rich get rich.  And we need them.  And those who inherit it are different than those who grind for it.

Segue into a marathon of watching her interviews.

now here we go, this is more like it

Vanity Fair

this one i am reading all the time, also Letters of Jane Austen, a book about Money hehe and these several films that have been watched to death really lets say

  • Coco Before Chanel
  • A Couch in Manhattan
  • MoneyBall
  • Broadcast News
  • 42
  • Fantastic Beasts...
  • Becket and Anne of a Thousand Days because Burton's voice
  • 8
  • All Is True .. The King of Holland

and the new winner of the sexiest voice contest is!

and i would like to try voice activitated whatever it is called to do this kind of thing maybe have my very own amanuensis that would be a worthy goal to be able to manage to publish and make money doing this it seems impossible to me

back to the books i really do obsess on movies though i think i should include all of Nora's films and her Esquire articles and the thing with the dog is good also Heartburn with Meryl and Jack of all people playing Carl Bernstein and i feeL like i should write like Talbert and embolden every one of my namedroppings i think i shall... hold on here ///  those movies i know them by heart and i have to do a review of each of them for this blog so starting at the top of the list would be 8....this movie killed me it made me cry more the more i watched it and it was just adoreable and we looked it up and found out about the real professor and the real statue and the real dog it's all very touching and we cried and it was really amazing now i think its funny how much i cried over it but still i saw no reason not to and it is very sad afterall since the dumb animal has literally no clue that he has not been abandoned but he knows it

so going in reverse order which shows how the tweedyverse is organized, so ye would start with # one and then work my way through them in order but they would come out with suspense written into it like a countdown but are they in order and does it matter, can and will argue it, we shall do now!

The Books of The Jews

She didn't actually ever remember not being a Christian.  The thing that freaked her out as she discovered how many kinds of Christians there were.  And then to realize, and as slow going and never really sank in until she was looking through a Jewish child's eyes.  Then it became quite obvious.

this is their book.  This is a history of Jews.  The entire book from the beginning of the world to the collection of letters at the end.  All written by Jews.  And until the end, probably only for Jews.  And they are sharing Judaism.  And that is what Christianity is.  Ery jot and tittle of faith is in The Torah and it is incomplete so the prophets kept us up-to-date and are there still prophets?  Of course there are.  God didn't die.  Nietzche was jealous because he didn't get to be Jesus.

Why would anyone bother to rewrite what no one is ever going to read?

The Book of Matthew is her favorite book.  It is because it seems endlessly intriguing that everyone who goes to church on Sunday believes that what Jesus is saying is Gospel but they don't really act like they want God on their side.
And that's the clincher because Look what happened to Jesus.  Was God saying, don't do what I do, do what I say?
